VAT Refund Assistant (Tax Team) - Istanbul

About the role

EY is looking for a VAT Refund Assistant to join its Tax - Indirect Tax Core team in Istanbul. The role supports VAT refund applications and the end-to-end management of VAT refund files within the firm's tax practice.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the required documentation and supporting schedules for VAT refund processes and review them for compliance with applicable tax legislation.
• Monitor and follow up on VAT Refund Risk Analysis Reports and deficiency notices.
• Carry out the necessary reviews and controls related to VAT refund applications.
• Prepare and review documentation for taxpayers' VAT refund applications, upload the relevant documents to the system and support the end-to-end management of VAT refund files.
• Support the preparation of VAT Refund Certification Reports.
• Follow up on procedures and correspondence with tax offices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year university, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field.
• 1-2 years of professional experience in accounting and/or tax.
• Strong interest in developing a career in accounting and taxation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal, client relationship management and problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with strong organizational and time management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
