VAT Manager – Indirect Tax Planning (Turkey/EU)

About the role

Amazon is seeking a VAT Manager to lead indirect tax planning and compliance for its Stores business in Turkey, while supporting broader Pan‑EU and EMEA retail projects. The role involves close collaboration with local business partners and the tax team, providing expert VAT advice and managing relationships with the Turkish Revenue Administration.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in‑depth VAT technical advice on Turkish and cross‑border matters, evaluating business initiatives and transactions.
• Support complex audit and controversy projects, engaging proactively with tax authorities.
• Assist the VAT Compliance Team on strategic compliance topics (not day‑to‑day filing).
• Coordinate tax‑related projects, drafting documentation for analysis, decisions, and reporting.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Accounting to support new business launches and ongoing operations across EMEA.
• Communicate complex VAT concepts clearly to non‑tax professionals.

Required profile

• Demonstrable VAT experience with a global consulting firm, law firm, or large commercial organisation.
• Strong knowledge of Turkish VAT and indirect tax regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Turkish and English.
• Ability to think strategically, manage senior stakeholders, and travel regularly across Europe and EMEA.
