Senior Data Engineer (Remote, Azure)

About the role

This remote senior data engineering position supports a large‑scale digital transformation initiative. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable Azure‑based data solutions that turn diverse sources into trusted, analytics‑ready datasets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics and Delta Lake.
• Develop cloud‑native data models and architectures that ensure scalability, reliability and high data quality.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners and architects to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Apply version control (Git) and engineering best practices for maintainable, collaborative development.
• Leverage AI‑powered tools where appropriate for code generation, data analysis and automation.
• Troubleshoot issues, monitor performance and continuously improve pipeline reliability.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience with Python and SQL in a data engineering context.
• At least 3 years working with Azure services (Storage, SQL, Synapse, networking) and Azure Databricks/Delta Lake.
• Proven experience designing data solutions and delivering analytics‑ready datasets.
• 4+ years of experience using version‑control systems such as Git.
