AI Lead Engineer

About the role

MENATEK, an internationally active defense technology company focused on engineering and manufacturing mission-critical components and subsystems, is looking for an AI Lead Engineer to help advance its digital transformation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, build intelligent applications, automate workflows and integrate modern technologies into business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy AI-powered applications, evaluate AI models and tools, and monitor and improve deployed solutions
• Identify automation opportunities and build automated workflows using Python, APIs and automation platforms, integrating applications, databases and enterprise systems
• Develop backend services, APIs and data-processing applications, supporting integrations with existing enterprise applications
• Apply software engineering best practices: version control, testing, documentation, deployment, data security and access controls
• Research emerging technologies, support proof-of-concept studies and measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering or a related field
• Experience designing secure AI applications with role-based access control and authentication, and deploying AI applications in production
• Ability to independently design, develop, test and deploy software; strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Good command of written and spoken English

Required skills

• Strong Python and SQL; REST APIs, authentication and application security
• Practical knowledge of LLMs, AI APIs, RAG, embeddings and AI application development
• Familiarity with Linux, Docker, Git and modern development environments
• Preferred: LLMOps, workflow automation platforms (e.g. n8n, Power Automate), vector databases, Microsoft Azure, ETL/ELT, ERP/CRM/PLM/QMS, information security and open-source LLM deployment
