Backend Engineer – Java Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our fast‑growing e‑commerce team. You will work on core services that power our online retail platforms, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and performant.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle: design, implement, test, deploy, and monitor.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver features and resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot.
• Monitor system performance and continuously optimise for efficiency.

Required profile

• At least 4 years of experience as a backend engineer.
• Production‑grade experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of OOP, design patterns and test‑driven development.
• Experience building microservice architectures.
• Proficiency in designing RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with event‑driven technologies such as SQS and Apache Kafka.
• Bonus: knowledge of AWS, Docker and Kubernetes.
