Data Engineer - Microsoft Fabric Migration

About the role

Beymen Group, a Turkish luxury fashion retailer, is looking for a Data Engineer. Microsoft Fabric and Power BI form the foundation of its data platform, and the team is currently migrating from Oracle DWH and MicroStrategy. You will take part in the migration and then grow the platform by onboarding new source systems, building new data products and improving performance and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Work with BI Development, Business Units, Software Development and Data Science teams to understand data requirements.
• Build and maintain a high-performance, scalable modern data platform on Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, Data Factory and Spark).
• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingesting and transforming data from multiple enterprise systems.
• Migrate Oracle DWH objects and legacy ETL jobs to Fabric-native pipelines and T-SQL.
• Build reliable data ingestion from SAP and other retail sources (POS, e-commerce, ERP, WMS).
• Design dimensional data models that serve Power BI semantic models efficiently.
• Deploy data optimization and quality rules, and monitor storage, query performance and pipeline execution.
• Ensure best practices and standards are followed in all data engineering tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional data engineering experience.
• Retail domain experience.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication and collaboration skills.

Required skills

• Strong SQL (T-SQL and PL/SQL), including performance tuning.
• ETL design, implementation and maintenance; schema design and dimensional data modeling.
• Hands-on Microsoft Fabric, ideally as part of a migration from a legacy DWH/ETL stack.
• Python, PySpark and Spark SQL.
• Preferred: enterprise ETL tools (Talend, Pentaho, ODI, Informatica), Oracle DWH and MicroStrategy-to-Power BI migration, Power BI semantic modeling and DAX, Azure cloud platforms, Git-based development and CI/CD (Azure DevOps preferred), SAP R/3 and SAP HANA integration.
