Data Science Team Manager (Chapter Lead)

About the role

ING Hubs Türkiye is hiring a Data Science Team Manager (Chapter Lead) for its Analytics unit, which builds a data-driven ING across banking and beyond. The role has a dual purpose: building a strong-identity team of advanced analytics specialists and actively contributing to project delivery. The manager decides how the team's capacity is allocated to the global backlog demands coming from the Product Lead and Tribe Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a view of the future of the data science craft with the Tribe Lead and Product Lead, and drive the development of chapter members.
• Align with other Chapter Leads on required capabilities and capacity across chapters.
• Decide the allocation of chapter members' capacity for global priorities with the Tribe Lead, Product Lead and other People Leads.
• Steer and develop chapter members so they meet their career goals and the organisation's goals.
• Contribute hands-on to data science projects and manage multiple retail data science projects in lending, personalization and pricing.
• Act as an expert on data science craftsmanship development needs.
• Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team, setting performance objectives and holding members accountable.
• Work on global backlog deliveries, attract and retain talent, and lead interviews when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field (mathematics, engineering, computer science, econometrics or similar).
• Management experience in an Agile organization; matrix setup experience is a plus.
• Experience as a data scientist in the retail domain and knowledge of the Tribe's business.
• Proven track record in analytics, backlog management and resource planning.
• Ability to lead teams of experts in a complex, dynamic environment and a mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Excellent level of Python and Spark.
• Excellent level of English.
• Agile/Scrum experience.
