Director of Commercial

About the role

Shangri-La Bosphorus, a luxury 5-star hotel in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, is looking for a Director of Commercial. The role develops and executes the hotel's commercial strategy to maximise revenue, profitability and market share, and leads the commercial teams toward common objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and align Revenue Management, Distribution, Reservations, E-commerce/Digital Marketing, Sales and Marketing teams toward common commercial objectives.
• Identify new business opportunities and strengthen relationships with key clients, partners and stakeholders.
• Drive profitable revenue growth through strategic pricing, demand management, business mix optimisation and effective distribution.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity, demand patterns and business performance to make data-driven decisions.
• Optimise channel profitability, distribution costs and digital marketing ROI.
• Monitor and optimise commercial KPIs, with a focus on revenue performance and forecasting accuracy.
• Support the hotel's short-term and long-term financial goals through strategic planning and execution.
• Foster a high-performing commercial culture through leadership, coaching and talent development.

Required profile

• Strong Revenue Management background, combined with solid knowledge of E-commerce, Distribution and Digital Marketing.
• Relevant experience with an international luxury hotel; preferably a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Fluent English (and the local language).
• Excellent presenter and communicator, with strong interpersonal skills.
