Director of Global Supply Chain

About the role

This senior position leads global strategic sourcing, commodity management and supplier negotiations for a complex manufacturing environment. Based in Turkey, the role works closely with senior executives, material management teams and global business units to drive cost optimisation, quality and supply continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead global strategic sourcing and commodity management initiatives to reduce material costs and improve total cost of ownership.
• Assess and improve quotation processes, set priorities, timelines and performance expectations for supplier awards.
• Analyse global spend, pricing, VMI activity and supplier data to establish competitive pricing targets.
• Conduct key supplier negotiations and develop strategies for quality, service, cost and long‑term value.
• Maintain reporting on savings, purchase price variance, supplier performance and implementation progress.
• Develop supplier scorecards, executive relationships and escalation processes.
• Monitor market shifts, emerging technologies and commodity trends to guide global locations.
• Lead spend analysis, maintain accurate spend databases and support sourcing decisions.
• Implement risk mitigation, business continuity and supply assurance strategies worldwide.
• Drive responsible sourcing programs, including conflict minerals and diverse supplier development.
• Build and develop global supply chain teams, setting expectations and professional development plans.
• Partner with senior leadership on strategic projects that support growth, margin improvement and financial objectives.
• Travel internationally and domestically to engage with business units, suppliers and strategic partners.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in global supply chain, strategic sourcing or procurement leadership.
• Proven track record of delivering cost savings and improving supplier performance.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead and develop multinational teams.
• Willingness to travel frequently for business engagements.
