Forward Deployed Engineer - Voice AI

About the role

Callby.ai builds enterprise Voice AI, with AI-powered voice agents that automate customer conversations and streamline operations. It is looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to bridge its AI platform with enterprise customers. This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role: you own customer deployments from technical onboarding and integrations through AI agent configuration, testing, go-live and continuous improvement, working directly with customers and alongside the engineering and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage customer deployments from onboarding and requirements gathering to testing, production launch and post-launch optimization.
• Design, develop and optimize prompts, conversational flows, business rules and agent configurations.
• Integrate AI agents with APIs, webhooks, CRM/ERP platforms and other enterprise systems.
• Create test scenarios, evaluate agent behavior, troubleshoot issues and support UAT and production rollouts.
• Monitor live deployments, analyze conversations and continuously improve deployed solutions.
• Evaluate new customer requests and coordinate product or engineering developments when needed.
• Translate technical and business requirements into actionable solutions and share customer feedback with the product team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Strong analytical thinking, debugging and problem-solving skills; ability to turn business requirements into technical solutions.
• Good communication skills and confidence interacting with enterprise customers.
• Professional working proficiency in Turkish and English.
• Currently based in Istanbul and able to commute to and work from the office regularly.
• Open to different experience levels; technical foundation and quick learning matter most.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of software development fundamentals, APIs, HTTP, JSON and databases.
• Ability to read, understand and write code, preferably in Python, JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Familiarity with LLMs, generative AI, AI agents and prompt engineering.
• Nice to have: REST API integrations, LLM APIs, Voice AI, STT/TTS, CRM platforms, cloud environments and logs, and prior customer-facing software engineering experience.
