Hull Construction Department Engineer

About the role

Damen Shipyards Antalya is looking for a Hull Construction Department Engineer to join its Hull Construction team and play an active part in the steel and aluminium construction processes of its shipbuilding projects.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor steel and aluminium hull construction, as well as related outfitting activities, throughout the production process.
• Prepare and follow up production and construction plans based on technical drawings, specifications, project schedules and delivery targets.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring effective information flow on drawings, specifications, materials and production requirements.
• Monitor fabrication and assembly on site, ensuring compliance with quality standards, technical specifications and project schedules.
• Follow up work progress, quality performance, inspections, revisions and corrective actions with the relevant production teams.
• Support the coordination of vessel and block transportation and turning operations when required.
• Work with Engineering, Project Management, Production and other departments to resolve technical and operational issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in shipbuilding, steel and/or aluminium construction or hull production.
• Experience in subcontractor coordination, production planning and site follow-up.
• Previous engineering or design experience is a plus, especially for technical communication with Engineering, technical feedback and sketch preparation.
• Good command of written and spoken English; living in or willingness to relocate to Antalya.
• No military service obligation for male candidates.
• Candidates without prior shipbuilding experience will not be considered.

• Strong planning, organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to take ownership, coordinate multiple stakeholders and work in a dynamic production environment.
