Junior Data Scientist

About the role

QNB is looking for a Junior Data Scientist to join its banking analytics team. You will help turn large data sets into actionable insights that drive business performance and support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain dashboards, data models and reports for performance evaluation.
• Troubleshoot and adjust existing data pipelines and automated reporting environments.
• Use SQL and programming languages to extract insights from large datasets.
• Visualize data through appropriate tools and present trends to management.
• Analyze data to uncover insights, trends and opportunities for strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, especially IT, to define and execute data analysis projects.
• Contribute to data‑analytics strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Monitor KPIs and provide actionable recommendations.
• Develop predictive models using machine‑learning techniques and perform feature engineering.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and support AI projects.
• Coordinate with consulting firms when project support is required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
• Maximum two years of experience in data‑related roles.
• Strong methodological approach to data analysis and clear presentation skills.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Interest in big data, analytics and machine‑learning topics.

Required skills

• SQL for data manipulation and querying.
• Python or R for data analysis and modeling.
• SAS or SPSS for statistical modeling.
• Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI).
• MS Office proficiency.
• Machine‑learning techniques and predictive modeling.
• Big data analysis and feature engineering.
