Language Quality Expert

About the role

viravira.co is looking for a Language Quality Expert to improve the quality, accuracy, consistency and naturalness of translations across its platform. The role reviews machine-translated and AI-translated content, improves Turkish and English translations, and coordinates quality improvements for other major languages. It is a full-time position based in Istanbul.

Key responsibilities

• Review, edit and improve machine-translated and AI-translated content across the platform
• Improve the quality, clarity, grammar, consistency and naturalness of Turkish and English translations
• Review website pages, listings, destination pages, product flows, emails, notifications, support texts and FAQs
• Use translation tools, AI tools, glossaries and style guides to raise quality and efficiency
• Create and maintain quality guidelines, glossaries, terminology lists and tone-of-voice rules
• Work with product, marketing, SEO and customer experience teams
• Give feedback on AI translation outputs and coordinate with freelancers, agencies or native speakers when needed
• Report recurring quality issues and ensure content supports SEO, conversion, trust and customer experience

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Translation and Interpreting, English Language and Literature, Linguistics, Comparative Literature, Foreign Language Education, Communications or a related field; Master's degree is a plus
• Excellent command of English, preferably native-level
• Professional proficiency in Turkish
• 1+ year of experience in translation, localization, proofreading, editing or language quality assurance
• Candidates from language departments are strongly preferred

Required skills

• Editing, proofreading and language quality assessment
• Understanding of grammar, style, tone, localization, terminology and cultural context
• Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Docs, Sheets, Word, Excel)
• Plus: CAT tools, translation management systems, localization platforms, SEO tools, UX writing and AI tools such as ChatGPT
