Material Planner – Supply Operations

About the role

The Material Planner supports Novartis Technical Operations Center – Supply Operations by ensuring timely supply of materials to production sites, optimal inventory levels, and compliance with GxP and regulatory standards. The role bridges master data management, logistics, planning, and order management to create value for internal customers across all Novartis divisions.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and maintain complex local and global master data in a GxP environment, defining processes, guidelines, and SLA timelines.
• Oversee logistics, warehouse, and distribution processes to ensure high‑quality, timely execution in full compliance with laws and supply‑chain policies.
• Execute daily MRP oversight, analyze BOM requirements, manage purchase orders, and resolve MRP exception messages.
• Maintain ERP‑system data for material specifications, monitor supplier service‑level indicators (OTIF, lead‑time), and drive continuous‑improvement projects.
• Manage intercompany order fulfilment, including order monitoring, change requests, invoicing, and handling returns, rebates, and credit/debit notes.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of GxP regulations and pharmaceutical supply‑chain requirements.
• Subject‑matter expertise in master data, logistics, or material planning.
• Proven ability to analyse data, report KPIs, and lead improvement initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills to act as a single point of contact for escalation issues.
