Ocean Export Specialist

About the role

The Ocean Export Specialist will manage end‑to‑end sea freight export operations, ensuring shipments meet customer requirements and deadlines. You will coordinate with shipping lines, overseas agents, and internal teams to deliver smooth and compliant export processes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate bookings with shipping lines and monitor vessel schedules, ETD/ETA, and shipment milestones.
• Prepare, review and submit Shipping Instructions, VGM declarations and all export‑related documentation.
• Follow up on Bill of Lading processes, amendments and final document issuance.
• Identify operational risks early and implement corrective actions.
• Handle exceptional situations such as rollovers, delays, equipment shortages and documentation discrepancies.
• Monitor operational costs, support invoice verification and ensure high‑quality customer communication.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration or related field.
• 2‑3 years of sea freight export operations experience, preferably in freight forwarding.
• Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Experience coordinating with shipping lines, ports, overseas agents and customers.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Office proficiency, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of export documentation processes (Bill of Lading, VGM, Shipping Instructions).
• Understanding of ISO Tank operations (considered an asset).
