Ocean Export Specialist

About the role

Reed Turkey is recruiting an Ocean Export Specialist for its client. The role manages end-to-end sea freight export operations, coordinating with shipping lines, ports, overseas agents and customers while keeping shipments on schedule and within cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end sea freight export operations according to customer requirements.
• Coordinate bookings with shipping lines and ensure timely execution of export shipments.
• Monitor vessel schedules, ETD/ETA information and shipment milestones.
• Prepare, review and submit Shipping Instructions (SI), VGM declarations and export documentation, ensuring cut-off deadlines are met.
• Follow up on Bill of Lading processes, amendments and final document issuance.
• Identify operational risks early and handle exceptions such as rollovers, delays, equipment shortages and documentation discrepancies.
• Monitor operational costs and support invoice verification.
• Maintain clear customer communication with regular shipment status updates.
• Contribute to process improvement and ensure compliance with company procedures and international shipping regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of sea freight export operations experience.
• Experience in freight forwarding and sea freight operations.
• Advanced English, written and spoken.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, organization and follow-up skills; proactive and detail-oriented.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities at once.
• Knowledge of export documentation, Bill of Lading processes, VGM and Shipping Instructions.
• Experience coordinating with shipping lines, ports, overseas agents and customers.
• Completed military service for male candidates.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Knowledge of ISO Tank operations is an asset.
