On-Prem Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

The On-Prem Infrastructure Engineer will support, maintain, and optimise enterprise datacenter infrastructure, ensuring stable, secure and high‑performing environments for critical business applications.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, PKI, IIS and File & Print Services.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Hyper‑V and VMware vSphere/ESXi clusters, hosts, virtual machines, vCenter, HA, DRS and vMotion.
• Support SAN/NAS storage platforms (IBM FlashSystem, Dell PowerStore, NetApp, iSCSI, NFS, SMB) including provisioning, replication and performance optimisation.
• Partner with backup teams on restore validation, disaster recovery and business continuity activities.
• Monitor, patch, harden and tune servers, virtual machines and storage systems; provide 3rd‑level support for complex incidents.
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, configuration baselines and operational standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years hands‑on experience managing Windows Server environments in enterprise datacenters.
• 3+ years experience with Hyper‑V and/or VMware virtualization in multi‑host or multi‑cluster settings.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, PKI, IIS and core Windows Server roles.
• Experience with enterprise storage solutions and backup/disaster‑recovery processes.
• Ability to participate in an on‑call rotation and respond to critical incidents outside standard hours.
