Production Line Leader - Powder Production

About the role

Sika, a specialty chemicals company, is looking for a Production Line Leader for its powder production line in Gebze. The role ensures that daily production runs meet health and safety, quality, efficiency, cost and production plan requirements, coordinates the production team, monitors process continuity and leads operational improvement on the shop floor. It reports to the Shift Leader / Production Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Organize powder production line activities according to daily and weekly production plans and assign daily tasks at the start of the shift.
• Monitor mixers, bunkers, dosing and transfer systems, filling and packaging, and ensure raw materials follow the correct recipe, quantity and sequence.
• Ensure production follows recipes, work instructions, SOPs and quality standards, and monitor volume, scrap, downtime, rework and efficiency.
• Coordinate with Maintenance on breakdowns and planned maintenance, and ensure equipment inspections, cleaning and 5S compliance.
• Work with Quality Control to keep products within specification, handle non-conforming material and apply isolation and reporting procedures.
• Enforce occupational health and safety, PPE use, and chemical, dust, machinery and forklift safety; stop production when there is a serious safety or quality risk.
• Support onboarding and training of new employees, monitor operator competencies and take part in daily production meetings.
• Drive continuous improvement (Lean, 5S, Kaizen, TPM) and suggest improvements to capacity, cycle time, changeover time and scrap.

Required profile

• Graduated preferably from a vocational high school, technical college or a relevant technical discipline.
• Experience in chemical, construction chemicals, cement, dry mortar or similar powder production processes.
• Ability to work in a shift-based environment and strong team coordination and leadership experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production equipment.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills for production and quality records.
• Knowledge of 5S, Lean, Kaizen and continuous improvement is an advantage.
