Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Performance and Scalability)

About the role

DigitalZone is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the platform can handle massive campaign‑level traffic spikes. You will enable engineering teams with the tools, standards, and practices needed to test and scale their services reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalability foundations such as capacity planning, autoscaling, caching, queueing, and graceful degradation for high‑spike traffic.
• Establish load‑ and failure‑testing as a standard practice, providing frameworks, tooling, and runbooks for teams.
• Own SLOs, error budgets, and the observability stack (metrics, logs, traces, alerting) across TypeScript, Go, and PHP/Laravel services.
• Harden Postgres and AWS infrastructure for performance and availability, reducing toil through automation and IaC.
• Lead incident response, conduct blameless post‑mortems, and drive systemic fixes upstream.
• Partner early with engineering teams on capacity and resilience to make them self‑sufficient.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in SRE, platform, or backend engineering with ownership of large‑scale systems.
• Proven track record of scaling systems during real traffic spikes and implementing load/failure testing programs.
• Deep expertise in AWS and Postgres performance and scaling.
• Strong knowledge of observability tooling and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Proficiency in scripting or development with Go, TypeScript, or similar languages.
• Calm, systematic approach to incidents and strong communication skills to enable other teams.
