Software Engineer, Backend

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join our engineering team and help build the core systems that power gameplay for millions of players. You will design, develop, and maintain high‑performance server‑side services that bring game features to life.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, low‑latency backend services that support core game features for a large user base.
• Manage APIs and tooling required for new game and platform releases.
• Maintain and enhance the existing codebase following best engineering practices.
• Collaborate with teammates to brainstorm and iterate on user‑experience improvements.
• Monitor system health, deploy new features, and ensure reliability.
• Secure and optimise game performance, reliability, and security.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong command of Java, JavaScript, or C# and familiarity with their best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with Java Spring Boot for backend development.
• Experience in casual mobile games is a strong advantage.
• Knowledge of relational and non‑relational databases.
• Understanding of software architecture, OOP, and design patterns.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for high‑quality code.
