Software Engineer (Windows Agent, C#/.NET)

About the role

Picus Security is a cybersecurity company that validates attack surfaces and security controls, covering autonomous penetration testing, exposure validation and breach and attack simulation. It is looking for a Software Engineer for its Engineering team, focused on the Windows side of the product while sharing responsibility for the whole product. The role is fully remote, within a distributed team that uses AI agents in its development workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain a Windows agent in C# and .NET
• Build endpoints with Go, event-driven communication, REST, PostgreSQL, New Relic and SonarQube
• Work hands-on with Windows internals: services, processes, registry, permissions, inter-process communication and security features
• Use AI agents as everyday teammates and help improve the AI-native framework's workflows, tooling and standards
• Own features end to end, from design and implementation through testing, release and monitoring
• Collaborate with product, UX and fellow engineers in a self-organizing agile team

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience, mostly in C# and .NET
• Solid understanding of the Windows OS: services, processes, registry and permissions
• Willingness to work outside Windows, on backend services and other platforms
• Daily use of AI coding assistants or agents, with good judgment about when to trust, verify or rewrite their output
• Strong fundamentals in software design, data structures, algorithms, network technologies and unit testing
• Humble, friendly, adaptive and result-oriented personality
• Clear written and spoken English
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
