Technical Leader - Signal Analysis

About the role

ESEN is looking for an experienced Technical Leader in signal analysis to lead the analysis, interpretation and processing of complex communication signals across a wide range of modulation formats and protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse signals in time, frequency and modulation domains, including symbol extraction, carrier and synchronization evaluation and signal integrity assessment.
• Perform modulation and demodulation of analog and digital communication schemes.
• Decode protocols and extract metadata, message fields and control information.
• Carry out frame, burst and bit-level analysis to find errors, impairments, timing issues and protocol irregularities.
• Analyse and implement error-correction coding (convolutional, turbo, LDPC, Reed-Solomon) and evaluate decoding performance.
• Evaluate multiplexing schemes (TDM, FDM, CDM, OFDM, hybrid) and their impact on system performance.
• Design and refine software modem components such as synchronization, filtering, equalization, demapping and BER/FER evaluation.
• Develop analytical tools and algorithms in MATLAB, Python and/or C/C++.
• Use oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers and SDR platforms to capture and assess RF and baseband signals.
• Prepare technical documentation, test reports and analysis summaries.
• Mentor team members and support cross-functional engineering reviews.

Required profile

• Master's or higher degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering or similar.
• At least 10 years of hands-on experience in signal analysis, digital communications or communication system diagnostics.
• Strong understanding of waveforms and standards such as OFDM, CDMA, PDH, SDH, LTE/LTE-A, 2G/3G, Zigbee, LoRa, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
• Experience with RF test equipment and SDR environments.
• Excellent command of English.

Required skills

• Modulation/demodulation, protocol decoding, frame/burst/bit inspection, error-correction coding and multiplexing techniques.
• Software modem design and baseband processing.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python and C/C++.
• Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills.
