Wind Turbine Blade Technician

About the role

KATWIND Energy is seeking a skilled Wind Turbine Blade Technician to perform composite inspections and repairs on wind turbine blades. The role involves both ground‑based and aerial work, extensive travel, and close collaboration with customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct composite inspections from ground and aerial platforms, documenting any damages.
• Communicate findings clearly in reports and follow‑up documents.
• Assist in corrective actions and design modifications such as diverter strips and balance blocks.
• Perform composite repairs on‑site or on the ground while adhering to safety standards.
• Identify and propose process improvements for efficiency and safety.
• Work in confined spaces and travel up to 100% of the time.
• Provide technical support, maintenance, and issue resolution for customer operations.
• Contribute to service operations, sales lead generation, and overall project success.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Technical high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant field experience.
• Strong knowledge of composite work and turbine troubleshooting.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Flexible travel schedule (up to 100% travel).
• Pass pre‑hire drug screening.

Required skills

• Composite inspection and repair techniques.
• Use of spotting scopes and digital cameras for documentation.
• Operation of composite repair equipment (sanders, grinders, repair chemicals).
• Forklift operation and suspended platform rigging/operation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to lead a repair team.
• Turbine troubleshooting.
