Associate Director, Head of Procurement & Implementation

About the role

The Associate Director, Head of Procurement & Implementation provides strategic and operational leadership for procurement across a multi‑regional portfolio. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures procurement processes are efficient, transparent and compliant with the Bank’s policies and international best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing team of 8‑10 procurement professionals, setting KPIs and fostering capability development.
• Direct procurement operations across assigned regions, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, PPRs and international standards.
• Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks, identify and mitigate risks, and approve procurement documentation.
• Drive procurement reform and transformation initiatives, promoting best practices across the portfolio.
• Engage with senior internal and external stakeholders, influencing procurement strategies and ensuring alignment with project objectives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in procurement and project implementation within MDB/IFI environments, especially in developing or transition economies.
• Proven track record leading multi‑project, multi‑regional procurement operations and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with a focus on value‑for‑money principles.
• In‑depth knowledge of internationally accepted contract forms such as FIDIC and NEC.
