About the role
The Automation & Digitalization Engineer designs, implements and supports automation, robotics and digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing operations. The role improves safety, quality, productivity, sustainability and efficiency through industrial automation, Industry 4.0 technologies, AI-enabled solutions and data-driven manufacturing systems, working closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, IT/Digital Technology and external suppliers.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement automation, robotics and digitalization solutions to improve manufacturing performance
- Lead automation and digital transformation projects from concept, engineering, commissioning and handover to production
- Ensure the reliability, optimization and continuous improvement of automation systems
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, IT/Digital Technology and suppliers to deliver technical solutions
- Use Industry 4.0 technologies, industrial networking, AI applications and data analytics to improve efficiency and decision-making
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, sustainability and cost efficiency
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting and root cause analysis for automation and control systems
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, cybersecurity requirements and safety regulations
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating emerging technologies and promoting digital innovation
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics engineering, automation engineering, robotics engineering or a related discipline
- At least 5 years of experience implementing industrial automation systems in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to live in Istanbul or Kocaeli
- Good oral and written English
Required skills
- PLC programming, HMI, SCADA, industrial instrumentation, VFDs and servo systems
- Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, OPC UA
- Industrial databases and manufacturing data collection systems
- Desired: project management from design to commissioning, OT/IT integration, structured problem solving, stakeholder management and flexibility outside standard hours
