Automation Engineer

About the role

Syngenta’s Seed Engineering Team in Turkey is looking for an Automation Engineer to design, lead and support automation projects across its seed production sites in Europe. The role will help increase manufacturing capacity, improve quality and reduce costs while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and OT standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with regional and global engineering peers to align standards and share best practices.
• Define scope of work for short‑ and medium‑term capital automation projects.
• Support business cases for automation and OT/data investments.
• Work with vendors to select technologies and develop, improve and maintain site SCADA software and hardware.
• Implement and manage control systems in compliance with cybersecurity standards.
• Develop basic OT training for production teams.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance programmes for control systems and networks with local maintenance teams.
• Provide root‑cause‑analysis support and documentation for automation equipment.

Required profile

• Proven experience collaborating with engineering teams on automation projects.
• Ability to work with vendors and consultants on technology selection and implementation.
• Strong understanding of preventive maintenance for control systems.
• Experience delivering training and knowledge transfer to production staff.
• Capability to support root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
