Automation Engineer – Seed Production

About the role

Syngenta’s Seed Engineering Team in Turkey is looking for an Automation Engineer to develop, lead and support plant automation projects across Europe’s seed production sites. The role focuses on increasing manufacturing capacity, improving quality and reducing costs through advanced automation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with regional and global engineering peers to align standards and share best practices.
• Define scope of work for short‑ and medium‑term capital automation projects.
• Support business cases for automation and OT/data investments.
• Work with vendors to select technology and manage SCADA software/hardware updates.
• Implement and maintain site control systems compliant with cybersecurity standards.
• Provide basic OT training to production teams.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance programs for control systems and networks.
• Assist local maintenance teams with root‑cause analysis and documentation of automation equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement of SCADA reporting and data visualization.

Required profile

• Experience in plant automation and control system projects.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices for automation equipment.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional and multinational teams.
• Strong analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.
