Blockchain Ops Engineer

About the role

As a Blockchain Ops Engineer you will design, implement and secure ING’s digital asset technology capabilities. You will work on security‑critical components such as wallet infrastructure, key management, cryptographic controls, custody models, smart contract security and blockchain integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain secure wallet and key management infrastructure.
• Implement cryptographic controls, custody models and tokenization platforms.
• Collaborate with digital asset engineers, cyber security teams, risk, compliance, legal and product owners to ensure platforms are secure by design.
• Perform threat modelling, vulnerability management and security testing of blockchain components.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering, solution design or architecture experience.
• Strong stakeholder management across business and technology domains.
• Fluent English communication (C1 level or above).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field.

Required skills

• Cyber security, secure software engineering, platform security, cryptographic systems.
• Understanding of blockchain fundamentals: wallets, public/private key cryptography, digital signatures, transaction signing, smart contracts, tokens, blockchain nodes, custody models.
• Secure coding, threat modelling, vulnerability management, penetration testing, security architecture.
• APIs, microservices, event‑driven architecture, cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure‑as‑code.
• IAM, privileged access management, secrets management, encryption, logging, monitoring, audit trails.
