Body-in-White (BIW) Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Join Ford Otosan’s Body Manufacturing Engineering team and help shape the future of automotive production in one of Europe’s largest BIW facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring welding, adhesive, and NVH sealing processes meet strict quality and safety standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Control spot, gas‑metal‑arc, laser, stud and nut welding according to control plans and specifications.
• Manage equipment requests, operator training, ultrasonic inspection, calibrations and annual recertifications for spot welding.
• Track running changes and engineering change orders.
• Oversee periodic destructive testing (teardown) and resolve flash report issues.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to reduce costs and drive quality improvements.
• Ensure structural adhesive and NVH sealer processes comply with control plans.
• Lead audits and support ISO 9001 and Ford Global Engineering standards.
• Participate in risk‑analysis teams, enforce occupational health and safety rules, and verify employee compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Materials Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years of BIW experience in automotive production or projects.
• Basic knowledge of automotive body production processes and welding methods.
• Self‑sufficient and capable of leading an ultrasonic inspection team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D visualization tools such as Teamcenter and CATIA.
• Advanced MS Office skills.
• English fluency at B2 level or higher.
• Experience with Ford WERS or similar welding management systems (a plus).
• Knowledge of ultrasonic inspection techniques and ISO 9001 standards.
