Corporate, Banking & Capital Markets Associate (3-5 PQE) – Istanbul

About the role

A leading commercial law firm in Istanbul, instructed by a recruiter, is recruiting a 3-5 PQE Corporate, Banking & Capital Markets Associate. The firm advises domestic and international clients on sophisticated cross-border transactions and wants to strengthen its corporate and finance practice. The successful candidate will work on high-quality matters across corporate/M&A, banking and finance and capital markets, acting for leading Turkish and international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on domestic and cross-border corporate transactions, including M&A, joint ventures and restructurings
• Act for lenders and borrowers on banking and finance transactions
• Advise on capital markets transactions and related regulatory matters
• Draft and review transaction documentation and ancillary agreements
• Carry out legal due diligence and prepare transaction-related reports
• Work directly with partners and senior lawyers on complex, high-value matters
• Manage parts of transactions under supervision and take responsibility for client-facing work

Required profile

• 3-5 years' post-qualification experience at a reputable law firm
• Strong experience in corporate/M&A, banking & finance and/or capital markets
• Experience advising sophisticated domestic and/or international clients
• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent written and spoken English and Turkish
• Ability to work in a demanding, international and team-oriented environment
• Candidates with a strong specialism in one area but with some broader transactional exposure will also be considered
