Director, Public Affairs, Communication & Sustainability (Turkey)

About the role

The Company is seeking an experienced Director to lead external engagement, advocacy, trade association strategy, and public affairs in Turkey. This senior position will shape and execute the public affairs agenda, build trusted stakeholder relationships, and protect the Company’s reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the public affairs, advocacy, and external engagement strategy aligned with business priorities.
• Represent the Company across trade associations, business councils, chambers of commerce, and industry platforms.
• Define and drive trade association strategy to influence policy discussions.
• Build senior‑level relationships with government officials, regulators, NGOs, and industry influencers.
• Shape advocacy positions and policy strategies that advance business objectives.
• Identify and manage emerging public policy, regulatory, political, societal, and reputational risks.
• Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders on stakeholder engagement and reputation management.
• Lead stakeholder mapping, influence strategies, and integrated engagement plans across functions.
• Represent the Company in high‑profile external forums and conferences.
• Lead issue management and crisis preparedness, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Partner with regional and global PACS teams to align local advocacy with enterprise goals.
• Oversee sustainability‑related external engagement and ensure alignment with advocacy commitments.
• Direct agency, consultant, and external partner relationships.
• Establish governance, tracking, and reporting mechanisms for advocacy effectiveness.
• Develop and mentor talent, fostering a high‑performing PACS culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Communications, International Relations or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years progressive experience in public affairs, government relations, corporate affairs, regulatory affairs, communications or trade associations.
• Proven track record developing and executing public policy and stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Deep understanding of Turkey’s political, regulatory and business landscape.
• Extensive experience engaging senior‑level government, regulators, industry associations and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to influence complex stakeholder environments and manage sensitive issues.
• Experience leading issue and crisis management in dynamic settings.
• Strong strategic thinking, business acumen and executive communication skills.
• Experience working in multinational, matrixed organisations and influencing without direct authority.
• People‑leadership, coaching and team‑development capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in Turkish and English.
