Mechanical Analysis Lead Engineer - Hybrid

About the role

GE Aerospace is hiring a Mechanical Analysis Lead Engineer in its advanced engineering center in Istanbul, Kartal, with a hybrid working model. The role contributes to the design and development of products, solutions and systems, including technical improvements of existing products and components, and covers planning and execution within an operating discipline. It involves stress and life analyses, design optimisation, failure investigations and test capability assessments, with hands-on mentoring of junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct stress and life analyses under the guidance of experienced engineers, covering engine certifications and qualifications, design optimisation to meet life goals, failure investigations and test capability assessment of engine hardware
• Mentor junior engineers in the team
• Solve engineering problems using prior experience and on-the-job training
• Implement plans to meet technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments
• Monitor and communicate project status, issues and key developments

Required profile

• Graduate of a Mechanical, Aeronautical or Metallurgical Engineering programme; postgraduate degree is a plus
• Strong engineering fundamentals in solid mechanics, theory of elasticity and numerical methods
• At least 6 years of hands-on experience in finite element analysis
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Collaborative, problem-solving and leadership skills

Required skills

• Finite element analysis with ANSYS or other commercial FEA software (e.g. ABAQUS, Optistruct, Nastran, Patran)
• CAD familiarity (Unigraphics or other commercial CAD software)
