Senior Associate - M&A / Corporate Law

About the role

A growing Corporate/M&A team in Istanbul is looking for a full-time Senior Associate with at least five years of relevant professional experience. English law qualification and/or experience is highly beneficial.

Key responsibilities

• Advise domestic and international clients on corporate and M&A matters, build client relationships and contribute to business development
• Support domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including share and asset deals, restructurings, reorganisations and joint ventures
• Conduct legal due diligence and prepare due diligence reports
• Draft, review and negotiate transaction documents such as share purchase agreements, shareholders' agreements and ancillary documents
• Prepare and review corporate documents such as resolutions and minutes
• Coordinate transaction processes and liaise with clients, counterparties and other advisors
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda and opinions
• Work closely with supervising partners and keep up to date with legal and regulatory developments

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in law and Turkish Bar Association membership
• At least five years of corporate and M&A experience, preferably at an international law firm or reputable local practice
• Experience in domestic and cross-border M&A, including due diligence and transaction documentation
• English law qualification and SRA membership preferred

Required skills

• Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in fast-paced transactions
• Commercial, practical and solution-oriented approach
• Proactive, detail-oriented and able to work independently and in a team
