Communication Officer – UNICEF Turkey

About the role

The Communication Officer will join UNICEF’s Turkey Country Office in Ankara, reporting to the Communication Manager. The role supports the development and delivery of advocacy and communication strategies that raise the profile of children’s and women’s issues, strengthen political will, and enhance UNICEF’s brand in Turkey.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating advocacy and communication strategies aligned with country, regional and global priorities.
• Ensure timely production and distribution of communication materials to support campaigns and resource mobilisation.
• Develop and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets across print, TV, radio and online platforms.
• Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of communication activities and prepare impact reports.
• Maintain and expand contact lists of celebrities, partners, government, UN and bilateral stakeholders for special events and advocacy initiatives.

Required profile

• Based in Ankara and able to work onsite.
• Experience in communications, public relations or advocacy, preferably within an international or NGO context.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal English; knowledge of Turkish is essential.
