Director of Spa and Wellness

About the role

The Director of Spa and Wellness leads the Spa, Fitness, Spa Pool and Kids Club operations at the Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus in Istanbul. Reporting to senior hotel management, the role combines strategic planning, financial oversight and guest‑experience excellence to uphold the brand’s luxury standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage the annual Spa & Fitness budget, including re‑forecasting and Capex approval.
• Compile monthly profit & loss statements, monitor daily revenue, and present financial updates to the management team.
• Set and track treatment and retail sales targets for spa staff, driving motivation and performance.
• Oversee purchasing, stock checks and equipment maintenance to ensure cost control and asset protection.
• Coordinate special guest and VIP arrangements, handling enquiries, complaints and service recovery.
• Conduct daily walkthroughs of the Spa, Fitness Centre and Kids Club, ensuring SOPs are up‑to‑date and standards are met.
• Develop and execute marketing plans and event calendars in partnership with the Director of Marketing and Communications.
• Lead regular market research and adapt strategies to meet business objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing luxury spa, fitness and wellness facilities.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, P&L analysis and cost control.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, able to motivate multidisciplinary teams.
• Customer‑focused mindset with the ability to handle VIP guests and resolve issues promptly.
• Knowledge of health‑and‑safety standards and ability to maintain high service quality.
