Head of Programme – Turkey

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a Head of Programme to lead its country programme in Turkey from its Gaziantep office. Reporting to senior management, the role shapes strategic direction, oversees programme development and ensures high‑quality delivery for protection and economic recovery interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the Country Programme Plan in line with DRC’s global strategy and evolving local context.
• Conceptualise, design and implement protection and economic recovery programmes.
• Lead fundraising, donor engagement and grant management, monitoring budgets, risks and compliance.
• Oversee MEAL processes, capture learning and ensure programme quality standards.
• Manage and develop the programme team, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Engage with partners, civil society and donors to represent DRC’s priorities and advance localisation.
• Plan and coordinate advocacy activities related to programme objectives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in humanitarian programme management, preferably in protection and livelihoods.
• Proven track record in fundraising, donor relations and grant oversight.
• Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Turkish is an advantage.
