Lead Engineer - Process (Plastic)

About the role

Koç is looking for a Lead Engineer - Process (Plastic) to join its Washing Machine Factory in Manisa. The engineer supports designers in improving the manufacturability of plastic parts and drives continuous improvements in parts and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage mould design approvals, mould trials (T1 to T-final), necessary mould adjustments and modifications, and first sample approval (FSA) processes.
• Prepare technical specifications for moulds and auxiliary equipment.
• Conduct process capability and statistical process control analyses.
• Manage and report KPIs for suppliers of plastic injection parts, including production efficiency and part quality.
• Support designers in improving the manufacturability of plastic parts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and/or Materials Engineering.
• At least 6 years of experience in plastic production processes.
• Strong knowledge of plastic raw materials (PP, PP-CaCO3, ABS, PC, PA, POM, etc.) and plastic injection processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Out-of-the-box thinking, creativity, flexibility, teamwork and empathy.

Required skills

• Operating plastic injection machines and robots and adjusting their process parameters.
• Mould maintenance and modifications; preferred: plastic painting, pad printing, laser screen printing, ultrasonic/vibration/hot-plate welding and non-contact vision inspection.
• 3D modelling software, preferably UG NX, and AutoCAD; mould flow analysis.
• Microsoft Office and SAP.
