Legal Counsel - Corporate & International Affairs

About the role

Marti, a mobility app founded in 2018 and based in Istanbul, is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team. The role reports directly to the Deputy General Manager & Chief Legal Counsel and focuses on international legal affairs, especially U.S.-related matters, corporate governance and coordination with external counsel. It calls for excellent written and spoken English, strong legal drafting skills and the ability to own complex matters in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support U.S.-related corporate and securities matters, including reviewing draft disclosures, transaction documents and supporting materials with U.S. counsel
• Coordinate with international law firms, manage correspondence and track deliverables and deadlines
• Prepare and review board and committee materials, corporate resolutions and governance documentation
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements in English and Turkish
• Conduct legal research and write memoranda, briefing notes and recommendations for senior management
• Support financing transactions, due diligence and other strategic projects
• Work with finance, investor relations and other teams to identify legal risks and develop practical solutions
• Support the legal department's broader corporate, commercial and regulatory work

Required profile

• Law degree and admission to a bar association in Turkey
• 4-7 years of post-qualification experience at a reputable law firm or in-house legal department
• Experience in corporate and commercial law, international transactions or capital markets
• Advantage: experience advising publicly listed companies or working on U.S. securities and corporate governance matters
• Advantage: an LL.M. or other academic or professional experience abroad

• Excellent command of written and spoken English, including independent drafting of legal documents
• Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet demanding deadlines
• Attention to detail, professional discretion and clear communication
