Project Manager – EPC, Oil & Gas and Industrial Projects

About the role

ABB is looking for an experienced Project Manager in Istanbul to manage projects delivering complete Product/Solution Packages for EPC, chemical, oil and gas, industrial and utility clients. The role covers medium to medium-high complexity projects involving several international product teams, and combines ABB and non-ABB products such as medium and low voltage switchgear, transformers, DC switchgear, fire and gas and HVAC systems. The position reports to the ELDS Sales & Solutions Manager and follows a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main interface with customers and project participants on all contractual matters, covering offer preparation, order entry and project handover.
• Support tendering, attend meetings with the Sales Team and meet clients before the official order and project turnover.
• Review orders from a technical and commercial standpoint during negotiation and manage order entry.
• Run project kick-off meetings with the Sales/Marketing team, visit clients and project sites regularly to track milestones and close topics.
• Manage execution of orders: scheduling, tracking, shipment, invoicing coordination, closing, and act as single point of contact for technical and commercial coordination with customers and suppliers.
• Lead manufacturing and installation processes, maintain ABB quality and HSE standards, and lead testing activities.
• Ensure project management complies with ABB ethics, policies, quality standards, HSE requirements, financial targets and schedules.
• Negotiate scope changes and claims, pursue strategic change orders, plan the critical path, monitor activities and forecast revenue, profitability, costs, margins and cash flow.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience managing complex, large-scale multidiscipline long-term projects.
• Site installation and commissioning experience of mechanical and electrical systems highly preferred.
• Fluent Turkish and English, able to travel 30-40% of the time and holds a valid driver's licence.
• Action-oriented, strong interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork, and experience with subcontractors, progress payment reports and commissioning contracts.
• Preferred: practical experience with SAP, MS Project and AutoCAD, and experience in a culturally diverse global business environment.
