R&D Engineer – Mechanical Design for Heavy Machinery

About the role

The R&D Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing trailer systems and heavy machinery components, preparing technical documentation, supporting production through engineering solutions, and contributing to continuous product improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with design, production, and project teams to ensure innovative, manufacturable, and high‑quality engineering solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design trailer structures and mechanical components according to customer requirements.
• Prepare detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models, ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Support prototype development, product validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with production, quality, purchasing and project teams to resolve technical issues and drive engineering change processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in mechanical design or product development, preferably in trailer or heavy‑machinery design.
• Proficiency in preparing manufacturing drawings and technical documentation in English.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes and GD&T.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Experience with CATIA (3D design, surface modeling, sheet metal, drafting).
• Good command of Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards and GD&T.
