Interior Trim Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Interior Trim Design Engineer to create innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing interior solutions for our vehicle platforms. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure that every trim component meets brand standards, safety regulations, and passenger comfort requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design interior trim concepts for new and existing vehicle models.
• Conduct economic and engineering feasibility studies for proposed designs.
• Select materials, colors, and finishes that align with brand language and performance criteria.
• Evaluate fire safety, sound insulation, hygiene, ergonomics, lighting, ventilation, noise, vibration and ease of entry/exit.
• Determine suitable production methods such as injection molding, vacuum forming, RTM, or hand lay‑up.
• Create 3D models, detailed technical drawings, and comprehensive design documentation.
• Define off‑site trim parts in accordance with engineering standards and customer specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive interior engineering, specifically trim design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of interior ergonomics, regulations, material science and production processes.
• Proficiency in mathematical surface design theory and practice.
• Advanced expertise in CATIA and solid experience with other CAD/CAM tools (NX, SolidWorks).
• Analytical mindset, problem‑solving ability and a curiosity for continuous learning.
