Senior Vehicle Dynamics Simulation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Vehicle Dynamics Simulation Engineer to develop and maintain high‑fidelity vehicle models focused on lateral and vertical dynamics. The role involves close collaboration with suspension, chassis and control teams to deliver handling and ride‑comfort assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, calibrate and validate full‑vehicle models for handling, driveability and ride comfort.
• Parameterise suspension kinematics & compliance (K&C) and correlate results with physical test data.
• Parameterise and validate tire models (MF‑Tire, FTire, CDTire) for handling and ride applications.
• Support Driver‑in‑the‑Loop (DiL) and Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HiL) integration, commissioning and testing.
• Prepare, execute and analyse virtual test maneuvers, providing objective assessments such as understeer gradient, transient response and weighted RMS accelerations.
• Document findings and present recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• MSc/PhD or equivalent in mechanical, automotive engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, especially lateral dynamics (handling, steering) and vertical dynamics (ride comfort).
• Hands‑on experience with at least one vehicle dynamics simulation tool (e.g., AVL VSM, CarMaker, Adams Car, VI‑Grade).
• Fluency in spoken and written English; German is a plus.
• Self‑driven, structured working style with strong problem‑solving skills.
