Welding Engineer (Brazing Processes)

About the role

JCI is looking for a Welding Engineer focused on brazing processes. The role leads the development, optimization and standardization of brazing processes used in manufacturing, and works closely with product design teams and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, optimization and standardization of brazing processes used in manufacturing operations.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including process design, validation and production transfer.
• Investigate production and quality issues, perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Drive projects aimed at reducing scrap, rework costs and process losses.
• Collaborate with product design teams to improve the reliability and manufacturability of brazed joints.
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing projects across the factory.
• Analyze process performance and identify opportunities to improve quality, productivity and cost efficiency.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, PFMEA, Control Plans and process control strategies.
• Deliver process training and technical support to operators and technicians.
• Support the evaluation, installation and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment.
• Ensure compliance with EHS and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, welding, brazing or joining processes.
• Hands-on experience with brazing process development, validation and production support.
• Good command of English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of PFMEA, SPC, MSA and Control Plan methodologies.
• Experience with structured problem-solving tools and continuous improvement practices (e.g. 8D, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen).
• Strong analytical, communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
