Cable Technician

About the role

The Cable Technician will work closely with facilities support staff and internal customers to deliver reliable network cabling services across Marriott properties in Istanbul. This full‑time, onsite role focuses on installing, moving, and maintaining data and power cabling infrastructure while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with facilities teams and customers to capture service requirements.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute equipment installations, moves, additions, changes, and system enhancements.
• Troubleshoot network data issues and resolve non‑routine problems.
• Complete trouble tickets within defined service level agreements.
• Maintain orderly data network closets and ensure they meet coded standards.
• Support special events, large moves, and project work as needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory of technology devices and cabling materials.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and report incidents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in cabling or facilities support.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Professional appearance and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CAT5, fiber, and power cabling capacities and standards.
• Network data troubleshooting.
• Inventory management of cabling and related equipment.
• Ability to read and verify technical documentation.
• Proficiency with computer systems for ticketing and inventory tracking.
