Chapter Lead AI/LLM Data Scientist in Agentic AI

About the role

Lead a chapter of AI/LLM‑focused Data Scientists while actively designing, building and deploying production‑grade Agentic AI solutions for ING’s global banking network. You will work closely with product, tribe and engineering leads to translate emerging AI capabilities into scalable, business‑impactful products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a chapter of AI/LLM Data Scientists, supporting growth, performance and career development.
• Design, build and deploy Agentic AI solutions powered by Large Language Models, including multi‑agent systems that interact with tools, APIs and business applications.
• Establish best practices for AI engineering, experimentation, evaluation, governance and safety.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Platform and MLOps teams to operationalise AI solutions at scale.
• Translate complex business challenges into measurable AI products and contribute to ING’s global Agentic AI vision.

Required profile

• Significant experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, NLP or Generative AI.
• Proven leadership or mentoring experience in Agile environments.
• Hands‑on experience building and deploying production‑grade AI solutions.
• Strong communication skills in English and ability to work across business and engineering teams.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Experience with LLM‑powered applications and modern AI architectures.
• Familiarity with Agentic AI frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI or AutoGen.
• Knowledge of retrieval systems, vector databases, embeddings, RAG architectures and AI orchestration patterns.
• Understanding of AI evaluation methodologies, guardrails, governance and responsible AI practices.
