Community Liaison Officer

About the role

The Community Liaison Officer (CLO) will serve as the primary link between the project team and local stakeholders in Sivas, Turkey. The role focuses on building trust, communicating project information, and managing grievances to ensure smooth community relations.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, record, and communicate public views, opinions, and grievances to relevant project personnel.
• Maintain and update a grievance tracking system, ensuring timely resolution and reporting.
• Translate and distribute project information into local languages and culturally appropriate formats.
• Engage with community members, local authorities, NGOs, and contractors to gather feedback and address concerns.
• Support the rollout and monitoring of community development and livelihood programs.
• Ensure compliance with IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and national regulations.
• Prepare regular reports on stakeholder engagement, grievance handling, and community feedback.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the Sivas region and ability to speak the local language.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building trust with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to identify vulnerable groups and ensure their inclusion in consultations.
• Detail‑oriented with strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
